Coaches and Staff return to top

Clarington Gymnastics Academy believes that program excellence starts from the leadership and strong coaching staff. We believe in giving our coaches opportunities to access information and training that will give them the best set of coaching tools to teach your child whether they are a beginner just getting started or a national athlete.

All coaches at Clarington are required to take the National Coaching Certification Program, as outlined by the policies of the National coaching Association of Canada. The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for 65 different sports and is offered in both official languages across Canada. NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from the first-time coach to the head coach of a national team. NCCP is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada. As part of the program, all coaches are trained in ethical decision-making and sport safety.

In addition to the NCCP requirments we also hold in-house coaching clinics spotting, safety meetings, and our own step training to enhance the education of our staff to provide our participants with one of the best sets of coaches your child can have. Look for our Coaching profiles to be added to our website soon!.

If your child needs to go to the bathroom and is un-able to do themselves please have them go before classor speak with your child'scoach. There is no flashphotographying permitted from the viewing area.
Thank you.

Competitive News    return to top

Summer training has come to an end and our athletes have learned a lot of new skills. They have been training very hard with new routines to clean and polish for the 07/08 season.

We will also be sporting a new look this year with Purple becoming our new club colour!

We would like to thank Scarborough Gym Elites for letting us train at the facility! It is always great when clubs work together to support gymnastics in Ontario.

Congratulations to the Canadian Men's Team
The Canadian men's team finished in 11th place at the World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany earlier this month, successfully qualifying a full team to next summer's Olympic Games!

The Canadian women's team finished 14th at the world championships same as last year. As a result, for the first time since 1996, Canada will not field a full women's team at the Olympic Games.
